The Pirate Ship Playground

Welcome to Pandemic Playtime. It turns out that when you lock two little boys inside a house for weeks and months on end, they get pretty bored. This was my solution. We didn’t have a huge garden, but it was big enough to build this: The Pirate Ship Playground. An evening spent with SketchUp and I had a design.

I picked up some heavy uprights, a load of decking and a few 2x4s from Selco, ordered a slide from the internet (in hot demand) and a few extras. A ridiculous number of coach bolts means that this ship wasn’t sailing off anytime soon.

Throw in a Pirate Flag, Ship’s Wheel and a telescope and christen it with a carton of Apple Juice and there we have it.
